Sustainable Chemistry and Water

 

At this Summer School we took a closer look on water to discuss the opportunities and benefits of sustainable chemistry in this field with regard to the usage of water, pollution and purification. The exchange of the participant's experiences was at the core of the discussions in the lectures, which were complemented by workshops. The Summer School aims at postgraduates and young professionals dealing with or being interested in the topic of sustainable chemistry as a crosscutting issue.

The Summer School consisted of two parts:

Part 1: General Concepts and Approaches of Sustainable Chemistry

  • Concept of green and sustainable chemistry
  •  Reference points of intervention: national - European - international
  •  Practical implementation of sustainable chemicals management in the field of international cooperations and development cooperations

Part 2: Sustainable Chemistry and Water

  •  Water resources
  •  Water pollution
  •  Wastewater treatment
  •  Benign-by-Design
