Dr. Monika Tschense
Vita
Monika Tschense is a postdoctoral researcher in the group for Research Methods at the Institute of Sustainability Psychology. Her research addresses various topics at the intersection of psychology and linguistics, including reading competence and the processing of gender-fair language. This involves the use of various empirical methods, such as eye tracking, EEG, actigraphy, reaction time measurements, and surveys. Nonlinear time series analyses, in particular recurrence quantification analysis and fractal analysis, constitute an important methodological component of her work.
Since July 2025, Monika Tschense is also working at the Graduate School, where she implements and coordinates training opportunities and events for PhD candidates regarding career perspectives and respective competences, mental health, and social background (i.e., first generation academics).
