Redesigned Faculty of Management and Technology in dialogue
2023-11-15 Lüneburg. The Faculty of Management and Technology at Leuphana University Lüneburg is unique in the German-speaking university landscape. It unites the four disciplines of business administration, engineering, business informatics and business psychology under one roof. On Faculty Day, 23 November 2023, the academics will present their range of topics and services and seek dialogue with the public, especially local companies. The aim is to "successfully shape the transformation of the economy and society".
Dean Prof Dr Paul Drews describes the profile of his faculty as follows: "Everyone is talking about transformation. We take a very concrete approach to the topic and combine the strengths of four disciplines in order to understand and shape digital, organisational and sustainable change in companies, for example. We enable our graduates to manage this change responsibly and be successful in the fields of work of the future."
Responsible management, sustainable production and organisational and psychological approaches for the successful transformation of organisations characterise the programme of the Faculty Day. The event will begin at 3 p.m. in Leuphana's central building with short keynote speeches. This will be followed by three workshops. These sessions offer guests the opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions with academics.
The Faculty of Management and Technology will also open the new Leuphana Laboratories on the day. Scientists from various disciplines have set up the infrastructure here at the university. During the afternoon, the psychology department will demonstrate what is possible with the help of innovative methods such as eye-tracking, virtual reality and emotion recognition to identify human behaviour. Citizens and companies from Lüneburg are invited to try out the methods for themselves and gain a direct impression of the research methods. This makes the transferability of the findings into practice tangible.
A panel discussion with experts will then shed light on various perspectives on transformation. A science slam and a reception offering the opportunity to exchange ideas and make contacts will round off the day's programme.
The Faculty invites companies, organisations, sponsors, alumni, students and interested members of the public to take part in the Faculty Day. The event will be held in German. The programme and a registration form are available at www.leuphana.de/tdf
