Presentation Training - Presenting with confidence (FLINTA*)
Disclaimer: This workshop is specifically dedicated to FLINTA* people. We want to create a safe space to talk about specific experiences and challenges. We also offer a presentation workshop that is open to all genders.
Workshop: Friday, 29.11.2024, 11.15–12.45, C5.012, with K. Steenken
Speaking in front of an audience can be a daunting task - especially when you are being assessed. Nevertheless, presentations in their various forms are frequently part of exam requirements. The pressure to perform can lead to stage fright and anxiousness. How do I write good presentation notes? Where do I stand? And what do I do with my hands?
In this practice-oriented workshop, we will examine different aspects of presenting, including how to prepare information, body language and how to deal with stress and anxiety before and during the presentation. For this purpose, please bring a (current or "recycled") topic that you have prepared in advance for a short presentation during the workshop. It does not have to and should not be perfect, but only help us to talk about presenting. After a short input you will be guided through some hands-on exercises and give a 3-minute presentations for which you will receive constructive feedback from tutors and peers. You will learn together how to build your confidence for future presentations.
