Long Night of Writing

The Long Night of Writing is a traditional event at Leuphana. The 16th Long Night of Writing takes place on February 24, 2022, 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. in a digital format via Zoom.

We offer:

  • Space to write to push your writing project forward
  • Brief workshops and impulses to enhance your writing strategies
  • Consultations in German and English: topics may be literary research and management, linguistic development, German as a second language or multilingualism

The Long Night is held under the direction of the Schreibzentrum / Writing Center in cooperation with the Language Center and the Center of Methods.

February 24, 2022, 4 p.m.–12 a.m.


At 4 p.m. the Long Night of Writing will start with a joint kickoff in the main room – our welcome hall. From there you can get to all the other activities (breakout sessions): workshops, writing room, consultations.

Breakout Session – Consultation

Consultations with the writing tutors from the Schreibzentrum / Writing Center are available from 4.15 p.m. The team will be supported by Sandra Dahlhoff and Erik Senst from the library as well as Andrej Swidsinski from the Professional School, who will offer consultation on literature research and Citavi.

Breakout Session – Writing

From 4.15 p.m. onwards you'll have the opportunity to write in a structured sequence of 25 minutes of writing and a 5-minute break. The working time starts every full and half hour.
