WiFi

Wireless access to the university network and the internet is available to all university members at all locations.

To use these services, you need a computer and a Leuphana-Account. Typically, you can access the network with a notebook computer, although other WLAN-capable devices (for example smart-phones or tablets) can also be used.

Wireless networks

The following wireless networks are available at all Leuphana University locations:

  • “Leuphana”, WPA2-encrypted: For Leuphana University’s staff and students with full access to all services including intranet and the library’s licensed database.
  • “eduroam” WPA2-encrypted: for guests from other universities and research institutions belonging to the eduroam federation (see Eduroam)

  • “Guest”, unencrypted: only for other guests, such as: individual guests, conference guests, guest or further education students or guests and groups who have a working relationship with Leuphana University and require local internet access.

Only employees of Leuphana University can apply for a guest account. The application must be sent by email to accounting@leuphana.de, indicating the following data:
Name, first name, email address, beginning, end and purpose of use.

To use the “Leuphana” and “eduroam” wireless networks, the necessary Certificates must be installed.
