14th international Network Meeting of the ESD Expert Net
From November 9 to 16 the 14th international Network Meeting of the ESD Expert Net took place in Puebla Mexico. The ESD Expert Net, together with Engagement Global, was selected by UNESCO as the key international partner for the implementation of the “Education for Sustainable Development” world programme of action and will actively support the process in the coming years. The network is a multi-stakeholder group of ESD professionals from Germany, India, Mexico and South-Africa that encourages international exchange through ESD and develops cross-border approaches and strategies. Members are jointly developing opportunities for further education and materials and ideas for educational practice. They are also supporting policy, as well as schools, universities and other educational institutions on implementation and realisation.The annual network meeting offers the opportunity to take stock and develop new approaches and ideas.
As part of the program an open event was held at the Centro Integral de Servicios San Javier in Puebla under the overall topic of “Mobilising Capacities for Global Sustainable Action”. In a panel session Matthias Barth shared his insights in successful strategies for capacity mobilising and the support of meaningful learning processes for ESD.
