Baltic-German Exchange on 10 to 14 October 2022

In accordance to the German-Baltic Exchange with 12 students of Leuphana University Lüneburg in June 2022, 6 students from Universities in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, went, as part of the seminar "The Future Cities of Europe - Beyond Lüneburg 2030+" on a one-week research trip to Lüneburg, Germany. The research seminar is part of the DBU project "ESD for 2030: Learning for and in resilient and sustainable communities", which focuses on real-world labs as transdisciplinary and transformative learning environments.

During the research week, the 6 students from the Baltic States participated in the Leuphana Opening Week and attended various lectures as well as discussions with different actors from science, society and politics. As part of the project group work, the students got theoretical as well as practical insights into the research setting of Real-World Labs and of Lüneburg 2030+ and designed their own experiment along their research results. The research stay was combined with various exchanges with students from Leuphana University Lüneburg in order to share the different experiences with each other and to learn from each other's perspectives.

Back in the Baltic States, the students presented their research results at a final event to the participating project partners from the universities, schools and city/municipal administrations as well as the sponsor. The findings will be incorporated into the experimental phase of the project with the active participation of the students.

The student exchange was funded by the Baltic-German University Liason Office with kind support of Leuphana University Lüneburg.
