Borrowing and Consultation
LinA Lab resources can be borrowed during the current semester's opening hours. Please be sure to enquire in advance about the availability of the desired resources by emailing lina-lab@leuphana.deor in person. The loan period is four weeks. Extensions are possible after consultation by email.
To borrow resources, we require
- two printed copies of the loan form signed by your teacher. You can find the form here.
- a cash deposit of £20; an additional £10 is required for each additional resource (please note that we do not accept £50 notes or higher).

Tools for collecting linguistic data
- Audio recording devices + accessories
- Microphones for smartphones (TRRS connection only)
- Tripods for smartphones
Tools for transcription & analysis of linguistic data
- f4transkript (manual transcription software). Unfortunately, LinA-Lab does not have any licences available for automatic audio transcription. For recommendations on alternative, free tools, please send us an email.
- f4analyse (data analysis software)
- Foot pedals, headphones
- English language corpora (a list of available corpora can be found here)
- English learner corpora
Literature
- Specialist books on linguistics, various sub-areas including corpora
- Specialist books on transcription
- Dictionaries
- Books on research design, research instruments (e.g. interviews, questionnaires), statistics
Consultation
We advise and support you in all matters relating to the collection and analysis of linguistic data. In particular, we offer workshops or individual consultations to introduce you to the following software and programmes:
