LÜFINS

The Lüneburg Forum for Computer Science in Schools (LÜFINS) was founded in 2009 by the Leuphana University of Lüneburg and the regional high schools and vocational schools against the background of a declining demand for computer science-oriented study programs.

LÜFINS wants to make a regional contribution to inspire pupils in the long term for the subject computer science. In regular meetings of the participating teachers and professors of computer science become this:

  • workshops and competitions organized for students
  • promoting regional networking of IT activities in schools
  • provides schools with information from computer science courses of study and about the occupational profiles in which graduates are active
  • the transfer of know-how and infrastructure between schools and between Leuphana University and the schools (e.g. by giving lectures on current topics in computer science and presenting current university research and teaching activities)

Currently, 26 schools from the district of Lüneburg and neighboring districts in Lower Saxony, Bremen, Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania participate in LÜFINS. Other high schools and vocational schools from the region are also cordially invited to participate.
