Vita

Ulf Brefeld is Professor of Machine Learning at Leuphana University Lüneburg. After studying computer science at Saarland University, Saarbrücken, and Technische Universität Berlin, he received his PhD from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Max Planck Institute for Computer Science, Saarbrücken. He was a postdoc at the Technical University of Berlin and the University of Bonn and worked for Yahoo! Research, Barcelona, before becoming the head of the Recommender group at Zalando. From 2012-2015, he was Professor of Knowledge Mining & Assessment at TU Darmstadt and DIPF, Frankfurt am Main. Ulf Brefeld is interested in statistical machine learning and data mining.
