The Education Business Partnership (EBP) is a social enterprise that develops the skills of young people. An independent not-for-profit company, the EBP has been operating in Lincolnshire and Rutland for 13 years. It helps young people to develop the skills that employers seek and to enter the world of work better equipped for what lies ahead.The EBP offers a range of bespoke packages to support primary, secondary and special schools. Its services are divided into five main areas:

  • Skills tree

The partnership’s target market is young people aged five to 25. It works with individuals, parents, schools, businesses and other organisations where the employability and enterprise skills of young people can be enhanced through its services. It aims to help all the young people it works with to find their place in employment and in their communities using skills that will serve them into the future. It is committed to working with young people of all abilities and abides by the principles of inclusivity and diversity across all of its work. The EBP has formed a variety of partnerships ranging from schools and colleges to local companies and multinationals.

General information

Two unpaid internships per year of a minimum 3 months. Start time: July. SPS1: no.

Duties

You will support staff of the NCS as follows:

  • First two weeks: residential programme for school children aged 15-17, in which they participate in activities such as teambuilding exercises, outdoor pursuits, media skills and construction challenges.
  • Second two weeks: school children will organise and participate in a volunteer project for their local community (eg fundraising, regeneration activities, social activities).
  • Then, you will support the EBP in their school activities on: i) Days of Business; and ii) Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths days.

There may also be the possibility to spend a week at a local school.

Costs

No participation fee. Further information on financing your stay here.

Further costs: flights, accommodation, entertainment and travel (on some days, interns will be picked up; otherwise, there are good bus connections to schools).
