The “Multikonferenz Wirtschaftsinformatik 2018” (MKWI 2018) was hosted by the Institute of Information Systems at Leuphana University of Lüneburg. For four days, researchers from Germany, Austria, Lichtenstein and Switzerland discussed current research topics in information systems. The motto of the conference was "Data driven X - Turning Data into Value". More than 200 scientific contributions were presented and discussed in 29 sub-conferences and a poster session. The conference was opened by Lower Saxony's Minister for Science and Culture, Björn Thümler. Keynotes were held by Roland Scharrer from AXA Germany on the topic "DATA-DRIVEN INNOVATION @ AXA" and by David Kriesel on the topic "SpiegelMining”. More than 700 participants from science and practice attended the conference.
Prof. Dr. Paul Drews, Prof. Dr. Burkhardt Funk, Prof. Dr. Peter Niemeyer and Prof. Dr. Lin Xie acted as conference chairs and were responsible for the scientific program. Stefanos Dimitriadis and Christoph Martin contributed to the success of the conference as project manager and manager of the peer review process.
