2026-08-25 On September 2, Leuphana University of Lüneburg will once again host its Computer Science Day. The Lüneburg Forum for Computer Science in Schools (LÜFINS) is offering workshops for students in grades 8 through 13 to try their hand at computer science.
Whether you’re just taking your first steps into the field or already have programming experience—the workshop program showcases the versatility of computer science, and there’s something for every participant: understanding AI, exploring the world from a robot’s perspective, or programming your own websites or apps using HTML or Android. Those who are particularly creative and daring can develop the best possible, practical concepts for a future app or gadget in the “Team Contest” workshop.
The event will open with a presentation by Dr. Matthias Werner on the highly topical subject “Cringe or genius? When AI steals your dream job.”
Computer science skills are becoming increasingly important in the age of digital transformation. While LÜFINS has been making a regional contribution since 2009 to fostering long-term enthusiasm for computer science among students, the recently founded “Leuphana AI Campus” focuses on comprehensive AI literacy education.
