Digital Entrepreneurship:

Regional entrepreneurship in the digital economy

2019-07-01 The project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the State of Lower Saxony.

The institutes for "Management & Organization" and "Information Systems" of the Leuphana University Lüneburg are working together in the "Digital Entrepreneurship" (DigEn) project - Regional Entrepreneurship in the Digital Economy.  The project was launched in July 2019 with the aim of strengthening the regional economy, which is dominated by small and medium-sized enterprises, in its entrepreneurial transformation against the background of digital change and making it capable of sustainable innovation in the long term.

Within the scope of DigEn, the Leuphana University of Lüneburg concentrates its research and transfer approaches on key areas of entrepreneurial digitalization, which are represented by professors from 3 different disciplines (business administration, information systems and psychology). From the Institute of Information Systems, Prof. Dr. Paul Drews (digital technologies) and Prof. Dr. Burkhardt Funk (data analytics) are leading the project.

The research associates in the DigEn project are currently working with 11 business partners to identify good practices and develop practical solutions and problem-solving patterns. The interdisciplinary communication and collaboration across institutes as well as between university members and external actors is pivotal in this project.
