RESEARCH INTERESTS

As part of my research, I am working on developing a methodology for accelerating the design of the effective surfaces of deep drawing tools while increasing the robustness of the process. The aim is to create a foundational data set for a data-driven model that can explain the stochastic fluctuations within the manufacturing process and the effects on product quality. Fluctuations are studied in the laboratory and recorded in production and taken into account for optimizing the design of deep drawing tools. First, a basic modelling approach is developed using a cross-die geometry. For this purpose, the training data set is derived from experimental and numerical investigations. This modelling approach is then transferred to industrial geometries using process data from series production.

The project is funded by the DFG (German Research Foundation).
