Vita

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Noomane Ben Khalifa is Professor of Manufacturing – in particular Innovative Manufacturing of the Institute of Production Technology and Systems (IPTS), Leuphana Universität. He also heads the Institute for Material and Process Design at the Helmholtz Center Hereon. His research focuses in particular on the sustainable and ecological development of innovative manufacturing processes, among others for the transportation sector. In addition to extrusion, the manufacturing processes include sheet metal forming as well as additive manufacturing. The manufacturing processes are designed to be climate- and resource-friendly along the entire value chain.

Ablauf der Veranstaltung:
Es werden Forschungsthemen aus verschiedenen Gebieten analysiert und jede Gruppe sucht sich eine Forschungsarbeit aus (es können Abschlussberichte von Projekten, Doktorarbeiten oder Keynote-Papiere sein), die in der Gruppe analysiert und recherchiert wird und dann im Rahmen einer Präsentation allen vorgestellt wird. Wie die Themen recherchiert und ausgewählt werden, stellen wir Ihnen in der ersten Veranstaltung am 02.04.2024 vor.

Inhalt:
Die Vorlesung Materials & Engineering thematisiert die Zusammenhänge zwischen Werkstoffen, deren Eigenschaften und Einsatzmöglichkeiten, sowie den relevanten Fertigungstechnologien. Aufgrund immer höherer Lasten und Ansprüche an die Ressourceneffizienz wird die Optimierung der Werkstoffeigenschaften durch die Verarbeitung, sowie eine zielgerichtete Abfolge der Fertigungsschritte bei der Bauteilherstellung immer wichtiger. Im Hinblick auf die Auswahl eines geeigneten Werkstoffes für eine bestimmte Anwendung müssen daher die notwendigen und geeigneten Fertigungstechnologien berücksichtigt werden. Um die Auswirkungen bestimmter Fertigungsmethoden auf die Werkstoffe zu vermitteln werden im Rahmen dieser Vorlesung Themen der Werkstoff- und Fertigungstechnik kombiniert gelehrt. Darüber hinaus werden die Belastung und Schädigungsmechanismen im Einsatz, sowie deren Analyse und Möglichkeiten der Lebensdauerverlängerung diskutiert.
Spezifische Beispiele geben Einblicke in die Anforderungen, Werkstoffe und Fertigungsrouten für real existierende Bauteile.

Ziel der Vorlesung ist die Befähigung der Teilnehmer, eine grundlegende Auswahl von Werkstoffen und Fertigungsschritten für technische Bauteile, unter Berücksichtigung der zu erwartenden Belastung im Einsatz, selbstständig vornehmen zu können.
