KIRA is developing an AI-based solution that enables companies to assess customer requirements systematically, transparently and reliably at an early stage of the quotation process. The focus is on analysing complex and heterogeneous requirements specifications as a basis for realistically evaluating technical feasibility as well as potential cost, schedule and quality risks.
At the core of the solution is a hybrid AI architecture that combines advanced language models with probabilistic risk analysis and logical conflict detection. Based on data from real-world industrial projects, requirements are automatically classified, relevant risk drivers are identified, and contradictory, incomplete or unrealistic specifications are detected at an early stage. An explainable assessment system ensures that the results remain transparent, traceable and useful for the responsible experts.
In this way, KIRA reduces the risk of incorrect assessments, unexpected additional costs and subsequent project cancellations. At the same time, the solution accelerates the process from receiving a requirements specification to making a well-founded quotation decision. The system is being developed in close collaboration with an industrial partner, initially tested under laboratory conditions and subsequently validated as a prototype software tool in real-world quotation processes.
KIRA supports in particular small and medium-sized enterprises in making their decision-making processes more efficient, identifying economic risks at an early stage and deploying their resources more effectively. The project thereby strengthens the competitiveness of industrial companies and lays the foundation for a reliable, transparent and data-driven approach to managing complex customer requirements.
