Vita

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Florian Stamer is a Professor of Production Management at the Institute for Production Technology and Systems (IPTS) at Leuphana University. He combines AI methods with proven production and quality management approaches to increase profitability while reducing material and energy use in circular value chains. His goal is seamless, data-driven decision support throughout the entire product lifecycle – from variant planning to manufacturing to remanufacturing. His focus areas are divided into three key domains:

Production Networks

  • AI-based optimization of pricing, delivery times, and sequencing in high-variant networks
    • Scenario simulation for global value chains and site planning

Production Systems

  • Digital twins as the foundation for layout and capacity planning
    • Process optimization through the combination of lean management and digitalization
    • Cognitive production systems that anticipate disruptions and react adaptively

Quality Management

  • Ensuring component quality in circular production
    • Data-driven test planning and optimization

Close collaboration with industrial companies through research and transfer is the backbone of these focus areas. Various forms of cooperation, such as third-party funded projects or consulting collaborations, offer companies the opportunity to benefit from academic insights and research results.
