Transdisciplinary Student Research Project "Space Station Nolte"

2024-06-04

At the beginning of May, the kick-off event for the transdisciplinary student research project “Sustainable urban/neighborhood development” took place under the direction of Jun. Prof. Karoline Augenstein and Carsten Nolte from Brauhaus Nolte. For two semesters, 20 students on the “Sustainability Sciences” Master's degree course have been working on the future of the Neu Hagen district. The kick-off event at HaLo (Haus Lossiusstraße) was attended by the students and course leaders as well as Thorsten Treybig and Simon Tipke from the district management and Antje Stoffregen from Paul-Gerhardt-Haus Lüneburg. While the first stage of this semester will focus on developing concepts for the sustainable development of the district, the second semester will be devoted to gaining practical knowledge through real-life experiments. The aim of the student research project is to bring more life to the Neu Hagen / Schützenplatz district and follows on from a transdisciplinary project from last year, in which, among other things, a mind map of the population's wishes was created and better street lighting was designed.

You can find out how the cooperation between Leuphana and the practice partners came about and what the course name “Space Station Nolte” is all about in the article in the Landeszeitung from 13.05.2024.
