Leuphana team plays a key role in shaping the Lüneburg education region
2025-03-17 Joint guidelines for the Lüneburg educational region – nothing less was the goal of a meeting of around 100 representatives from administration, politics, and educational institutions on March 6 in Barendorf. The academic input was provided by Prof. Dr. Marc Kleinknecht and Lisa Hofmann from the Leuphana Innovation Community for School Development and Leadership.
In his keynote speech, Prof. Dr. Kleinknecht outlined key measures that, from a scientific perspective, can contribute to the success of an educational region. According to the education specialist, it is essential to support schools in implementing practice and support concepts within the framework of all-day schooling, especially in light of an increasingly diverse student body. “Every secondary school should be able to retain as many of their incoming fifth-grade students as possible and provide them with adaptive support from the very beginning. Schools embarking on this path should receive targeted personnel support from the city, the district, and the state of Lower Saxony.”
In a subsequent workshop, Lisa Hofmann, Community Manager for School Development and Leadership, discussed various facets of political education with the participants. Workshops were also held on key educational topics, including securing skilled workers, inclusion, education for sustainable development, integration through education and cultural education.
The event provided a platform for intensive exchange and resulted in initial proposals and guidelines for educational development in the district of Lüneburg. The kick-off marks the beginning of a long-term process to strengthen and network educational stakeholders in the region. The School Development and Leadership Community supports this process by relying on cooperation between school and non-school partners.
