Workshop: Strategic Impact Planning and Measuring
2025-06-05 As part of the Utopia Academy, our Community Manager Dr. Frederic Penz gave a workshop on impact logic models and measurement.
All social entrepreneurs are united by the desire to change society for the better. But how do I start? And how can I measure whether I have made an impact? In the workshop, the 15 participants developed an understanding of what their own impact should look like, how they can achieve it, and what methods they can use to measure and manage it.
The workshop pursued three core objectives: (1) to define the key terms of impact measurement and illustrate them with examples, (2) to learn about a process including tools for impact analysis, measurement, and management, and (3) to develop a first impact logic model for one's own project.
IMPACT MANAGEMENT CONTINUES TO GAIN IMPORTANCE
The workshop participants agreed: measuring and managing one's own impact is central to one's project/company. However, the multitude of methods and concepts makes it difficult to find the right approach. Dr. Frederic Penz made it clear that impact measurement and management is a continuous process that should be started as early as the founding phase of a company. This is not only important for gaining personal clarity about one's own impact but is also central for securing funding and impact investments, and for attracting customers and employees.
Anyone who would like to gain further insights into the work of the Social Innovation Community in the area of impact logic models and measurement is welcome to contact Frederic directly or attend one of the next workshops.
