Increasing Demand for Bachelor’s Degree Programs at Leuphana
2025-10-01 Lüneburg. The number of applications for bachelor's degree programs at Leuphana University Lüneburg has risen for the current winter semester, reaching 5,700, which is around five percent higher than last year. Demand was thus about four times higher than the number of available places. Leuphana College will once again welcome over 1,500 students to its bachelor's programs. The places available there will thus be more than fully utilized.
Among the most popular courses offered at the college are the English-language bachelor's programs, such as the Bachelor of Digital Media. Demand for this program was particularly high, with around nine applications for each place. The Bachelor of Psychology was also in high demand, with around eight applications per place. The Bachelor of International Business Administration & Entrepreneurship recorded the highest absolute number of applications, with more than 700. The new minor programs in Entrepreneurship and Artificial Intelligence were also in high demand, with around seven and around 11 applications per place, respectively. For the Bachelor's program in Law at Leuphana, which will be introduced in 2022, there were over 400 applications for 110 places available.
University President Sascha Spoun is pleased with the high level of demand: “The fact that so many young people perceive Leuphana as an attractive and inspiring place to begin their studies is certainly due primarily to our challenging range of courses, which has many unique features and which we have developed intensively in recent years.” Leuphana's study model, which is unique in Germany, also creates the conditions for ensuring that students in Lüneburg do not receive an “off-the-shelf” education, Spoun continued.
