Shaping Education Together - Impressions from Communicorn 2025
2025-10-17 What if we shape change together? At the Communicorn Conference 2025, dedicated education professionals came together to brainstorm new approaches for the school of tomorrow.
How can school education be designed to prepare students for the challenges of the future? This question was the focus of the education section of the Communicorn Conference 2025 at Leuphana University Lüneburg. Representatives from academia, schools, administration, politics, and civil society came together for two days to develop perspectives on contemporary school development and collaborative learning.
The focus was on understanding education as a collaborative process—as a space for experimentation, sharing, and reflection. In workshop discussions, participants outlined a path to the school of the future. A visit to the Oberschule am Wasserturm in Lüneburg offered insight into concrete approaches to school transformation. And in the World Café, school representatives and administrative staff discussed with pioneers of open teaching how individualized learning spaces can be created in a bold and creative way.
The participants experienced two days of intensive exchange, characterized by openness, commitment, and the common goal of shaping schools as learning places of the future. “It's important to come together in such forums to network and create a working atmosphere. But you also see that you're not alone,” says John Dauert, head of teaching at the Henriette Breymann Comprehensive School in Wolfenbüttel and co-organizer of the “Open Up Teaching” workshop.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to all participants, organizers, and contributors who contributed to the design and success of the event with their perspectives and ideas.
