Over the past two years, the MIZ has been working intensively with building management to expand the Wi-Fi network in the outdoor areas of the campus and will complete the project, entitled “Outdoor Wireless Connectivity,” by the end of 2025. Taking into account the redesign of the campus, the areas where students and staff spend the most time were identified.

A total of 37 access points were installed and approximately 2,500 meters of cable were laid to enable Wi-Fi coverage in these areas. Some of the access points were installed on the facades of the buildings, while others were mounted on separate masts.
The project was made possible by €492,500 in funding from the “Academic Backbone – Eduroam off Campus” program of the “Hochschule.digital Niedersachsen” university network and the MWK.
