International Master Arts and Cultural Management starts again
2022-03-17 Lüneburg/Berlin. From now until 31 May 2022, cultural managers from all over the world can apply for the new semester of the part-time distance learning programme Arts and Cultural Management (M.A.) of Leuphana University Lüneburg and the Goethe-Institut. The application-oriented, English-language study programme qualifies participants to deal with current and future challenges in cultural organisations. The start date for the next round of the programme is September 2022.
Internationalisation, transformation, digitalisation and sustainability in cultural management are key topics of the predominantly online interdisciplinary study programme. In addition, students expand their knowledge in the areas of entrepreneurship as well as audience development and develop independent analysis and evaluation tools. Special emphasis is placed on practical qualification: international case studies and project work support the students in transferring their specialist knowledge into practice.
In the current cohort, around 40 participants from 20 countries from four continents are studying. For many students, the programme is a unique training opportunity that does not exist in their countries. Students already working in the cultural sector use the knowledge they have gained for new projects and to further develop their institutions and initiatives. For others, the programme is an opportunity to enter into the international cultural sector.
Students can choose between a three-semester study variant with 60 credit points (CP) and a more extensive variant with four semesters and 90 CP. In both variants, students only have to travel to Lüneburg for two one-week block courses and otherwise study via a digital learning platform. Furthermore, a total of three certificate programmes can be studied from the modules offered.
After two successful MOOCs, the Master's programme "Arts and Cultural Management" is the third joint project of Leuphana University Lüneburg and the Goethe-Institut. The Goethe-Institut is contributing its extensive experience in international cultural management to both the development and teaching of the degree programme.
Prospective students will have the opportunity to get to know the Master's programme better and ask questions about the degree programme at an online information event on 23 March 2022. On 6 May, another online event will be offered where students of the study programme will answer the questions of interested parties. Independently of these dates, it is possible to arrange a personal counselling interview with programme coordinator Christian Holst before applying (macuma@leuphana.de, Fon + 49 4131.677-2534).
