MBA Sustainability Management: Leuphana starts application phase for anniversary year

2022-04-22 With its MBA Sustainability Management, Leuphana University Lüneburg has been offering the world's first "Green MBA" since 2003. Students learn to develop and implement sustainable solutions for companies and organisations parallel to employment. Prospective students can now apply online for the start of the programme in 2023.

Lüneburg. "Our offer has a long and successful tradition. The students in our anniversary year will also benefit from this," says Professor Dr. Stefan Schaltegger, head of the programme. For the continuing education programme, he invites applications from specialists and managers from all sectors and organisations who are seeking a meaningful career. "We are looking for personalities who now want to tackle sustainable development in an entrepreneurial way and take on more responsibility in their organisation and impact environment."

"Green MBA" for sustainable management and innovative business models

The degree programme prepares students to effectively solve real sustainability problems and at the same time strengthen the economic success of a company. "The focus of our study programme is the strategic reorientation of organisations and the integration of sustainability into the core business," explains Schaltegger. Since this cannot be achieved on one's own, the further development of communication and networking skills as well as "soft skills" is a central component of the study offer.

Effective network for sustainability management

The students of the 20th year become part of the largest university network for future managers. Almost 800 students and alumni of the MBA Sustainability Management are already committed to more sustainability in corporate thinking and action. Around half of the graduates work as sustainability managers in sustainability departments and staff positions, but also ensure sustainable management in specialist departments such as purchasing, logistics or marketing. A further 30% of graduates are able to incorporate sustainability issues into their work at least occasionally, according to a survey of former students.

Applications for the 20th year possible until 30.09.

The continuing education programme leads to the academic title Master of Business Administration (MBA) - flexible, part-time and predominantly online. The programme starts in spring 2023 and applications can be submitted online until 30 September. A university degree and at least two years of professional experience are required. On 4 May, prospective students will have the opportunity to find out more about the programme and talk to students during a digital "Q&A lunch break".
