The Hanse University Alliance invites AStA representatives to Leuphana
2025-03-26 Ten representatives from Hamburg University of Technology and the universities of Kiel, Lübeck, Oldenburg and Rostock traveled to the networking meeting. The Lüneburg AStA spokesperson Emil Jüchter initiated the meeting and prepared the content.
The idea for the two-day meeting was born during the founding ceremony of the Hanse University Alliance (HUA) at Leuphana in early December 2024. Student representatives from other universities were already guests at that time - as they are now. “The Hanse University Alliance has taken over the financing and organization and supported the preparations. And we can contribute and work on our topics. A very good thing,” says the cultural studies student. Ten representatives from ASten within the HUA have come to discuss finances, internationalization and committee work. For Annabell Kretschmer from the University of Rostock, the volunteer crisis is an issue: “How do we get more people interested in volunteering? I am interested in how other student councils attract and retain members in the long term without the work being daunting,” says the master's candidate.
Before working together, the representatives had the opportunity to talk to the President of Leuphana: “Thank you very much for being willing to use your free time for your fellow students and to take a second step towards networking. The DNA of this university network is all about studying and teaching. Our second concern is not only to bring the ten member universities together, but also to say: we are an offer for society, for innovation and for politics,” said Sascha Spoun.
Emil Jüchter is very satisfied with the outcome of the meeting: “The exchange was valuable and collegial. We will definitely stay in touch.”
