U.S. University Honors Professor Müller-Rommel
2026-05-27 Lüneburg/Gainesville. Exactly 50 years ago, Professor Dr. Ferdinand Müller-Rommel earned his Master of Political Science degree from the University of Florida. In recognition of his outstanding academic achievements and his internationally acclaimed publications, the UF has now presented him with the “Distinguished Alumnus Award,” one of its most prestigious honors.
A university committee had recommended honoring Prof. Müller-Rommel “… in recognition of the honor and prestige you have brought to your alma mater through your remarkable achievements and dedicated service.”
At the award ceremony, held during a graduation ceremony in May, Gillian Lord, Dean of Academic Affairs at the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, highlighted Müller-Rommel’s achievements in her speech to the applause of the audience, paying particular tribute to his outstanding successes in the fields of party, government, and democracy research.
