Prof. Dr. Pauline Reinecke has been an assistant professor of business administration, specializing in strategic entrepreneurship, at the Institute for Management and Organization (IMO) within the School of Management & Technology since March 2025.
In her research, teaching, and outreach work, she focuses on strategic entrepreneurship as a driver of social transformation. She views entrepreneurship as an interdisciplinary skill for the future that enables creative, responsible, and action-oriented work on socially relevant challenges. This understanding encompasses various forms of entrepreneurial activity – from startups and self-employment to social, sustainable, and cultural innovations – and has shaped her work since her doctoral studies as well as in her current role at Leuphana University. In terms of content, her research focuses on areas such as the circular economy, the energy sector, the data economy, and digital platform companies, as well as new forms of work and innovations in healthcare and in developing country contexts.
She has received numerous awards for her work in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer, including the zfo Young Scholar Award 2026, the Best Student Paper Award from the Strategy-as-Practice Interest Group at the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management, the Best Paper Award from the Strategy-as-Practice Interest Group at the 2021 Strategic Management Society Conference, and the Best Symposium Award from the Organization and Management Theory (OMT) Division at the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management. She also received the 2025 Teaching Award from the School of Management & Technology at Leuphana University. Her research and teaching are supported by the Joachim Herz Foundation, among others.

Prof. Dr. Pauline Reinecke ist seit März 2025 Juniorprofessorin für Betriebswirtschaftslehre, insbesondere Strategic Entrepreneurship am Institut für Management und Organisation (IMO) der Fakultät Management & Technologie.
In Forschung, Lehre und Transfer beschäftigt sie sich mit strategischem Unternehmertum als Treiber gesellschaftlicher Transformation. Unternehmertum versteht sie dabei als interdisziplinäre Zukunftskompetenz, die kreatives, verantwortungsvolles und handlungsorientiertes Arbeiten an gesellschaftlich relevanten Herausforderungen ermöglicht. Dieses Verständnis umfasst unterschiedliche Formen unternehmerischen Handelns – von Start-ups und Selbstständigkeit bis hin zu sozialen, nachhaltigen und kulturellen Innovationen – und prägt ihre Arbeit seit der Promotion sowie in ihrer aktuellen Rolle an der Leuphana Universität. Inhaltlich bewegt sich ihre Forschung dabei unter anderem in den Bereichen Zirkulärwirtschaft, Energiewirtschaft, Datenökonomie und digitale Plattformunternehmen, neue Arbeitsformen sowie Innovationen im Gesundheitswesen und in Entwicklungslandkontexten.
Für ihre Arbeiten in Forschung, Lehre und Transfer wurde sie mehrfach ausgezeichnet, unter anderem mit dem zfo-Nachwuchspreis 2026, dem Best Student Paper Award der Strategy-as-Practice Interest Group beim Annual Meeting der Academy of Management 2024, dem Best Paper Award der Strategy-as-Practice Interest Group auf der Strategic Management Society Conference 2021 sowie dem Best Symposium Award der Organization and Management Theory (OMT) Division beim Annual Meeting der Academy of Management 2024. Zudem erhielt sie den Teaching Award 2025 der Fakultät Management & Technologie der Leuphana Universität. Forschung und Lehre werden unter anderem von der Joachim Herz Stiftung gefördert.
