Zotero: Don't get lost in the details - collect, sort and cite texts efficiently

16. Dec

Getting started with Zotero on December 16th, 2026 from 2:15 - 3:45 pm in the Schulungsraum 2 in the library foyer

Collecting and organizing references, creating literature lists or inserting references and bibliographies into a paper are all part of academic writing. Reference management programs are helpful tools that can make these tasks much easier. Zotero is a reference management program that grew out of the open-source movement. The desktop version runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux computers.

In this beginner-level workshop, an experienced colleague will demonstrate how to save search results from catalogs and databases directly into Zotero, how to attach and annotate PDFs, and how to transfer the collected references into your paper. In addition, you’ll learn many useful tips and tricks for working with reference management software.

For the demonstration, the following systems/programs will be used:
- Windows 10 or higher
- Zotero 10 for Windows
- Firefox or Chrome
- MS Word for Windows or LibreOffice

Everyone who is interested is welcome to attend. Please register for the workshop. It will only take place if there are a minimum number of registrations.
