12th Energy Forum: How can the heating transition succeed in municipalities?
2024-09-05 Lüneburg. The 12th Leuphana Energy Forum will take place on September 10. This year, the focus will be on the question of how the transition from a fossil-dominated to a climate-neutral heat supply in municipalities can succeed. Such a heating transition is of central importance for achieving climate protection targets and must be implemented locally in the municipalities. Representatives from science and practice will discuss the political, economic, legal and financial aspects of the topic. In plenary sessions as well as in specialist presentations and discussions, they will discuss topics such as participation and communication, infrastructure planning, the use of environmental heat, large heat pumps, medium-depth geothermal energy and financing solutions.
More than 200 participants from business, science, administration and civil society are expected to attend the one-day event in Leuphana's central building. Anka Dobslaw, State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Environment, will give a keynote speech on the topic: "Energy transition in Lower Saxony - opportunities and challenges for the heat supply. The event is being organized by Leuphana University Lüneburg and the Climate Protection and Energy Agency of Lower Saxony (KEAN) in cooperation with the ECOLOG Institute for Social-Ecological Research and Education and the Foundation for Financing and Financial Management.
