With the Center for Cooperative Security (LCCS), Leuphana is establishing a place for interdisciplinary research on security issues. The LCCS combines the public affairs subjects political science, law and economics but also incorporates related perspectives from psychology and sustainability sciences. Based on independent fundamental research and secondary analyses, the Center develops practical recommendations for action in politics, business, and society. As a space for research and debate, it connects researchers from Leuphana, Germany, and around the world with expert representatives from the field.
The LCCS is looking for a responsible, motivated and committed person to support the Professorship of Prof. Dr. Jelena Bäumler, Professor of Public Law, European and International Law, in particular Sustainability Law, starting as soon as possible, as a
Research Associate (m/f/d) (PostDoc)
(EG 13 TV-L, 100%, fixed-term for one year)
Your tasks:
- Support in establishing the Leuphana Center for Cooperative Security through theoretical and conceptual groundwork
- Support in developing and maintaining active collaborations with partner institutions and experts in Germany and abroad
- Assistance in preparing a research proposal in the field of international law and security, with the aim of strengthening security research at Leuphana and creating synergies with the LCCS
Your profile:
- Completed academic university degree in law
- Completed doctoral degree with a relevant thematic focus
- Specialization in international law and security
- Ability to work independently as well as excellent communication skills
- Expertise in international law and interdisciplinary security discourse
- Very good command of English, both written and spoken, and ideally knowledge of German
