At the professorship of Social and Organizational Psychology of Social Work (Prof. Dr. Birte Siem) at the Institute for Social Work and Social Pedagogy, School of Education, a position as 

Research Associate

(salary group EG 13 TV-L, 50% of the regular weekly working hours of a full-time employee) 

is to be filled as of 1 June 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter). The position is limited to the period of a parental leave (expected until 30 April 2027)

Your tasks:

  • Development and delivery of courses (2 semester hours per week) in the field of social psychology
  • Pursuit of own academic qualification (PhD or habilitation)
  • Active participation in one or more research areas of the professorship (e.g., adultism, stereotypes in the school context, approaches to reducing stereotypes and prejudice, inclusivity of climate protection initiatives)
  • Contribution to publications and securing external research funding

Your profile:

  • Completed degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Psychology or a related field (e.g., Empirical Educational Research)
  • Interest in social psychological research, ideally in social identity and inter- and intragroup processes
  • Ideally, own teaching experience
  • Solid knowledge in applying statistical methods and analysis software
  • Good command of English
