10th Energy Forum: Social challenges of the energy transition

2022-08-25 Lüneburg. The 10th Leuphana Energy Forum will take place on 6 September. This year's topic is the question of how social upheavals can be avoided in view of the necessary acceleration of the energy transition and despite the sharp rise in energy costs. One way could be to involve citizens and municipalities through participation and investment opportunities.

At this year's Energy Forum, representatives from science and practice will examine both the effects of the latest developments in the energy sector on consumers and the financial commitment of citizens and municipalities. Social challenges will be discussed as well as possibilities for action with the aim of achieving the broadest possible participation in the energy transition.

Participants from business, science, administration and civil society will meet for a hybrid event that will take place both in the Leuphana lecture halls and online via Zoom. The organisers are Leuphana University Lüneburg and the Climate Protection and Energy Agency of Lower Saxony (KEAN) in cooperation with ECOLOG Institute for Social-Ecological Research and Education for the project network "Benefits".
