Qualification for the industry of the future: Studying data science part-time
2024-05-22 Lüneburg. The global volume of digital data has grown inexorably in recent years. Data scientists are needed to make these data volumes usable for companies. These specialists are in high demand. The Leuphana Professional School offers a career-enhancing qualification opportunity in this field with its part-time Data Science course. The three-semester Master's course provides broad-based expertise and qualifies participants to independently process and evaluate large volumes of complex data using the latest machine learning methods. The application deadline for the course starting in October 2024 is July 15. There are various advisory options for those interested in advance.
The part-time Master's program places particular emphasis on in-depth training in data analysis methods. At the beginning of the course, students are therefore taught comprehensive basic knowledge of machine learning and the relevant areas of mathematics and statistics. In the further course of the program, current topics such as deep neural networks, probabilistic graphical models and methods of information retrieval are covered. Supplementary modules also deal with the value and use of data in companies and how to handle it responsibly.
A further focus is on practical orientation. Students work on real projects and use cases from their own company. They can work on professional issues as part of seminar assignments. In this way, students and their employers benefit from the transfer of knowledge into practice during their studies.
The part-time Master's degree with alternating attendance and self-study units is aimed at prospective students with professional experience in data analysis who want to open up career options in a promising professional field through the additional qualification. On June 15, 2024, there will be an opportunity to get to know the course better during the Leuphana Professional School's digital info day. Course coordinator Maria Kruse will be available for consultations (datascience@leuphana.de, phone 04131.677-2129).
