The Germany Scholarship provides students with €300 per month for a period of one year. Half of the funding comes from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, while the other half is provided by private funds from companies, foundations, associations and individuals.

University Vice-President Prof. Dr. Markus Reihlen emphasised the importance of the scholarship as financial support, but also as an expression of recognition and confidence in the students' potential. "The award-winning students are not only eager to learn, hard-working and successful in their studies, but also devote a lot of time to others. Some achieve very good grades despite personal obstacles – it is admirable how they manage to juggle so many things."
