In February 2025, Leuphana submitted a follow-up funding application as the applicant university for the Master's programme "International Law of Global Security, Peace & Development (LL.M.)" funded by the European Commission since the winter semester 2021/2022 and received a funding commitment in July 2025, subject to successful preparation and conclusion of the grant agreement. The Master's programme will continue under the modified title "International Law of Security, Peace & Sustainable Development (LL.M./M.A.)". The EMJM funding line supports transnational excellence programmes for highly qualified students that lead to multiple or joint degrees. Funding is provided for the implementation of a joint international Master's programme in a consortium of at least three higher education institutions. At least two of these institutions must be from different EU Member States or third countries associated with the programme. The consortium consists of six partners: Leuphana University Lüneburg (lead university), the Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (joint institute of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Universitat de Barcelona and Universitat Pompeu Fabra), the University of Glasgow, the University of Tartu, the Université Libre de Bruxelles and the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa.

The University is looking for a responsible, motivated and committed person for the coordination of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master "International Law of Security, Peace and Sustainable Development" offered at Leuphana Graduate School as soon as possible, subject to the conclusion of the grant agreement.

Co-ordinator (m/f/d) for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master „International Law of Security, 

Peace and Sustainable Development“ (salary group EG 13 TV-L, 75 %, for a limited period until 30.11.2031)

Your tasks:

  • overall coordination of all activities arising from the EMJM funding, in particular organisation of meetings of the consortium and its committees, financial controlling and interface work between different departments and institutions for the administrative aspects of the programme
  • curricular supervision and further development of the overall programme, in particular quality management and development, preparation of study regulations and coordination of the final study phase, including processes for the Master's thesis
  • support for all communication activities with third-party funding providers, consortium partners, associated partners, students, lecturers and visiting scholars; interface management with central Leuphana institutions
  • marketing and communication for the entire programme, in particular managing the consortium website and social media accounts in cooperation with the consortium partners and with the support of the Graduate School's marketing and student ounselling services
  • preparing and implementing programme-specific information and advisory services for students and participating in the Graduate School's cross-disciplinary information and onboarding formats
  • coordinating the application and selection process for scholarship holders and self-funding students, in particular preparing (scholarship) applications for the selection committee and coordinating the awarding of scholarships
  • teaching coordination, including organisation of mobility for students, lecturers and visiting scholars, as well as extracurricular courses and social events with students in Lüneburg and the surrounding area
  • advising and serving as a central point of contact for prospective students before or during their application, for students after admission and throughout their studies and across the various study locations, as well as for graduates and alumni, including organising alumni activities

Your profile:

  • academic university degree (Master's or equivalent)
  • experience in research and higher education management, ideally in the design and/or coordination of international study programmes in cooperation with international partner universities
  • relevant project management experience, ideally in larger third-party funded projects
  • aptitude for internal and external networking and intercultural competence, ideally demonstrated by previous work experience
  • experience in dealing with different status groups at a university and in interface and matrix work
  • very good written and oral communication skills in German and English (at least comparable to level C1 of the CEFR)
  • very good analytical and conceptual skills, high level of self-motivation, initiative and flexibility, as well as agility

The following would also be advantageous or desirable:

  • experience in coordinating Erasmus Mundus programmes or comparable consortia (e.g. European universities)
  • experience in advising international Master's students
  • basic knowledge of content management systems and social media
