Univ-Prof. Dr. phil. Habil. PhDr. KPN Jörg W. Ziegenspeck was a university lecturer in psychology (1972 - 1996), educational science (1996 - 2004), and experiential education (2004 - 2009) and scientific director of the Institute for Experiential Education ("Institut für Erlebnispädagogik e.V.", founded in 1990 as a non-profit registered association and recognised provider of non-statutory youth welfare in Lower Saxony). In 1997, upon application of Faculty I: Educational Sciences, the association in the capacity of a so-called ‘affiliated institute’ of University Lüneburg (according to Art. 152 NHG) was approved by the Senate of the University and with the consent of the university management as a scientific institution to the university (1997 - 2009).

After his retirement from office in Lüneburg (2009), he accepted the professorship for pedagogy at the Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM, University of Applied Science) until his retirement there (2020) and headed the Institute for Leisure Studies, first at the Schwerin location, later in Berlin.
