The book "Dal rifiuto del lavoro alla moltitudine - La filosofia sovversiva di Toni Negri” reconstructs the political and philosophical development of the recently deceased Antonio Negri. With a series of works that have become classics of political theory, Negri introduced new concepts into the discussion of theory and Marxism and transformed concepts from the tradition of political thought. His work became internationally recognised through the publication of Empire, which he co-authored with Michael Hardt. However, the work of this philosopher and activist began much earlier: he drew his originality from the political and social history of the 1960s and 1970s.
This book elaborates on Negri's theoretical practice since the early 1960s and shows how our recent history is inextricably linked to a diverse movement of political, social and cultural disobedience that traversed the world in the second half of the 20th century.
Prof. Dr. Roberto Nigro is Professor of Philosophy, in particular Continental philosophy, at the Institute of Philosophy and Art Studies (IPK) at Leuphana University and Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Studies. Dal rifiuto del lavoro alla moltitudine was published by Derive Approdi in July 2024.
