Discussion: The US Presidential Election and its Consequences

On 18 November 2024, the Joachim Herz Doctoral School of Law hosts a discussion on the recent US presidential elections. In addition to the elections themselves and the assessment of their results, the general social situation in the United States and the expected consequences (on a domestic and foreign policy level) will be discussed.

The event will take the form of a dialogue between:

  • Ms Kerstin Kohlenberg (ZEIT journalist, former Washington D.C. correspondent, and author of the book 'Das amerikanische Versprechen', link)
  • Prof. Dr. Astrid Séville (Professor of Political Science, in particular Political Theory, Leuphana University of Lüneburg).
