Seminar: Transformative Constitutionalism in Latin America

The seminar will explore Latin American public law and its interaction with entrenched power dynamics in the region. It will focus on recent decisions of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and trace their impact on climate change, LGBTI and gender issues, indigenous rights, nature rights and migration.
The seminar will be held by Professor Dr René Fernando Urueña Hernández (link). He is Associate Professor at the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia) and holds the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Chair at the same institution. He is also currently a Fellow at Max Planck Law (link). He graduated in Law and Economics from the Universidad de los Andes and holds a Master's degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Helskini.
