Climate Litigation in German Courts:
What has happened so far and what could happen in the future
The presentation will look at the development of what is commonly understood by the term 'climate litigation'. It will focus on litigation in German courts aimed at improving climate protection and will show how it all began, explain the lines of jurisprudence to date, and discuss the most important cases currently pending, in order to give a sense of how further developments might unfold.
Prof. Dr Remo Klinger's many years of experience in this field and his role as one of the key litigators for the environmental organisations involved in these proceedings will enable him to provide unique insights into the subject.
