Vita

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Noomane Ben Khalifa is Professor of Manufacturing – in particular Innovative Manufacturing of the Institute of Production Technology and Systems (IPTS), Leuphana Universität. He also heads the Institute for Material and Process Design at the Helmholtz Center Hereon. His research focuses in particular on the sustainable and ecological development of innovative manufacturing processes, among others for the transportation sector. In addition to extrusion, the manufacturing processes include sheet metal forming as well as additive manufacturing. The manufacturing processes are designed to be climate- and resource-friendly along the entire value chain.

Das Modul thematisiert die klassischen Fertigungsverfahren in ihrer Breite sowie auch die aktuellen Entwicklungen und Herausfordergen in der Fertigungstechnik. Das beinhaltet die urformenden, umformenden, spanenden sowie fügetechnischen Fertigungstechnologien. Das komplexe Zusammenspiel zwischen Fertigungsprozess und resultierenden Bauteileigenschaften wird ebenfalls behandelt.

Remanufacturing beschreibt den Aufbereitungsprozess zur Wiederverwendung von gebrauchten Gegenständen. Dies ist besonders ressourcenschonend und trägt zum Klimaschutz bei. Das Umformen von gebrauchten metallischen Gegenständen zu neuwertigen anderen Gegenständen ist technisch herausfordernd.

In der Lehrveranstaltung werden von den Studierenden in Kleingruppen Lampen aus recycelten Materialen gefertigt. Nach einer Einführung in das Thema wird altes Material beschafft und ein Konzept für einen Lampenschirm entwickelt. Die Bleche werden anhand von Zugversuchen charakterisiert. Die Lampenschirme sollen aus dem Blechmaterial inkrementell umgeformt werden. Der letzte Schritt ist die Montage der Einzelteile zu einer Tisch-Stehlampe. Für die schriftliche Hausarbeit soll eine überschlägige Energiebilanz zur Bewertung der Nachhaltigkeit erstellt werden.
