Information for all university members on protective measures against coronavirus during the summer semester 2022

2022-06-01

Dear University Members,
Dear colleagues, dear professors and lecturers, dear students,

against the background of the recent significant drop in the number of Corona infections, the changed legal situation and the practice in other universities and areas of life, the Presidential Board has consulted in recent days with the deans, deans of studies, heads of departments and institutions and representatives of students and the Staff Council on the further handling of the university with the Corona virus from June 1, 2022.

On the basis of this joint consultation, the Presidential Board today passed the following resolutions:

  1. The obligation to wear an FFP2 or medical respirator mask will continue to exist only for all participants in courses initially until the end of the lecture period of the summer semester, also at the express request of the representatives of the students. Participants in courses are also required to wear a respiratory protection mask in the university buildings on their way to and from courses.

  2. The obligation to wear a respiratory protection mask in other situations outside of courses, e.g. in corridors or staircases, is no longer applicable as of today. On the other hand, the urgent recommendation to continue wearing an FFP2 or medical respirator in all situations where a minimum distance of 1.5 meters cannot be maintained remains in effect.

  3. We ask all university members to continue to show special consideration for the needs of individuals for whom corona infection may pose a particular health risk. At the request of these individuals, please take appropriate and suitable protective measures whenever possible.

  4. We would like to encourage all colleagues who, for example, have a special need for protection from corona virus infection due to a health risk situation, to make others aware of this need for protection in an appropriate manner as needed, e.g., by posting a notice on the door to your office. You can download a template from the intranet at Intranet --> Verwaltung --> Kommunikation --> Geschäftsausstattung.

  5. All regulations specifically applicable as of today can be found in the University's updated Hygiene Policy, which you can read on the intranet at Intranet --> Grundsätzliches --> Ordnungen und Richtlinien.

On the part of the President's Office, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for your thoughtfulness and the mutual consideration shown by all university members over the past weeks and months. We hope that the currently visible normalization of university life will continue for a long time and that we can continue to experience such a personal, content-rich and relaxed or easy-going summer semester on the Leuphana campus.

As usual, you can still find all information at www.leuphana.de/portale/coronavirus. If you have any questions, please continue to contact the central mail address cv-info@leuphana.de.
