Research Assistant PostDoc
(Focus: Green and Sustainable Analytical Chemistry and Renwable Organic Resources)
(salary group EG 13 TV-L, 75 %, for a limited period of 3 years, with the option to extend)
In an interdisciplinary team under the leadership of Prof. Vânia Zuin Zeidler, topics of sustainable and analytical chemistry related to renewable organic resources are worked on. One focus is on holistic substance- and process-related approaches to sustainable bioresource extraction and management, focusing on green and sustainable separation methods of organic compounds in order to valorise them, for example, for their reuse, energy production and to enable the sustainable use of organic renewable resources. This applies to both research and teaching.
Your tasks:
- Scientific services in research in the field of green chemistry, sustainable chemistry, with a strong focus on analytical chemistry
- Planning and implementation of courses in the field of green chemistry, sustainable chemistry, analytical chemistry (separation science) and material bioresources (3 SWS)
- Support of the professorship in administrative and organizational activities, as well as teaching and research
Your profile:
- Completed scientific university studies (Master or equivalent) and a PhD in chemistry or related field, for example analytical chemistry, food science, pharmacy, environmental sciences or engineering.
- Be an expert in separation techniques as chromatography and preparation methods, taking into account greener and more sustainable processes and materials, bioresources, processing systems using analytical and preparative separation techniques, structural determination and analytical instrumentation.
- proven scientific experience in the field of sustainable bioresource extraction and management and the above-mentioned topics.
- Multiple successful publications in relevant and major international peer reviewed scientific journals.
- Proven successful acquisition of third-party funding, also in international collaborations (e.g., EU) and appropriate project management.
- Special attention is given to the ability to work in an interdisciplinary way, which is of great importance in the field of Sustainable Chemistry and in cooperation with the Institute and Faculty of Sustainability
- The ability to work in a team and to lead especially scientific staff is required
- Experience in teaching and supervision (preparation around implementation of different formats) in an interdisciplinary context related to sustainability (Bachelor, Master and PhD Programs)
- Very good English language skills are required, and German language skills are desirable.
