CLIMATE JUSTICE THINK LAB
WINTER TERM 2024/25
With the Climate Justice Think Lab, the Joachim Herz Doctoral School of Law offers a new format for young academics (doctoral students and postdocs) and professionals to discuss the topic of climate justice. It consists of three workshops and includes general discussions, expert talks, and the preparation of academic papers.
Participation is by invitation only and participants are selected on the basis of their previous experience and knowledge of climate justice. Through the different perspectives they bring, the aim is to provide a comprehensive view of the issue. It will also address the tense relationship between the Global North and South, bringing together insights from Asia, the Americas, Africa and Europe.
At the first workshop on 29 - 30 October 2024, participants will present rough ideas for a paper. In an interim meeting (online) on 10 December 2024, they will discuss their progress and findings in small groups. In early April 2025, they will meet again to present their final papers and participate in a panel discussion at Leuphana University. At the end of the workshop phase, the participants' papers will be published in an edited collection.
