Gülce KORKMAZ ERDEM ist Promotionsstipendiatin an der Joachim Herz Doctoral School of Law der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg. Ihr Dissertationsprojekt, betreut von Professor Wolfgang Wurmnest (Universität Hamburg), vergleicht verschiedene Ansätze zur Regulierung digitaler Märkte in der Europäischen Union, Deutschland, dem Vereinigten Königreich und der Türkei. Dabei liegt der Fokus auf der Frage, wie verschiedene Rechtsordnungen Ex-ante-Regulierungsrahmen – wie etwa den Digital Markets Act (DMA) der EU, § 19a des deutschen Gesetzes gegen Wettbewerbsbeschränkungen (GWB), den britischen Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act sowie die geplanten Änderungen des türkischen Wettbewerbsrechts – definieren, begründen und umsetzen.

Bevor sie an die Leuphana Universität kam, war Gülce wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an der juristischen Fakultät der Bilkent Universität, wo sie auch ihren LL.M.-Abschluss erfolgreich mit Prädikat erwarb. Ihre Masterarbeit mit dem Titel „The Concept of Control in the Scope of Acquisitions Realized in Corporate Groups“ befasste sich mit Unternehmensverschmelzungen im Lichte des Gesellschafts-, Wettbewerbs- und Kapitalmarktrechts. Vor ihrer akademischen Laufbahn arbeitete sie als Fachanwältin für Wettbewerbs- und Kartellrecht in Istanbul und beriet multinationale Mandanten zu Fusionskontrollverfahren, Kartelluntersuchungen und Compliance-Fragen vor der türkischen Wettbewerbsbehörde und den nationalen Gerichten.

Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte umfassen das Wettbewerbsrecht, die Regulierung digitaler Plattformen, das Wirtschaftsrecht und die Rechtsvergleichung. Sie ist Mitautorin mehrerer wissenschaftlicher Beiträge und Buchkapitel auf Türkisch und Englisch und war Mitherausgeberin der Festschrift für Zühtü Aytaç (2022). Darüber hinaus veröffentlicht sie regelmäßig Analysen zu aktuellen Entscheidungen der türkischen Wettbewerbsbehörde im Concurrences e-Competitions Bulletin. Ihre Forschung hat sie auf verschiedenen internationalen Konferenzen vorgestellt.

Gülce ist Mitglied der Academic Society for Competition Law (ASCOLA) und der Rechtsanwaltskammer Istanbul.
