Workshop: Sustainable Supply Chains with Dr. Caroline Lichuma
2025-10-16
On 16 October 2025, Dr Caroline Lichuma (link) from the Centre for Human Rights at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg visited Leuphana University Lüneburg to deliver a workshop to members of the Joachim Herz Doctoral School of Law and the GoChains Research Group (link).
For once, the workshop introduced TWAIL (Third World Approaches to International Law) and explored its potential for critiquing existing (legal) conditions and developing solutions. Moreover, Caroline shared insights into her latest research on global supply chains and the question of their fair regulation, particularly in light of due diligence laws that have been established at national and European levels in recent years. Finally, she shared valuable insights from her own doctoral and postdoctoral experience, offering guidance on navigating the academic landscape.
We would like to thank Caroline sincerely for this comprehensive package of outstanding and extremely interesting insights, particularly into the background and methodology of her latest research. The interdisciplinary nature of the workshop made it particularly interesting for both lawyers and non-lawyers alike.
