Labor and employment law regulations as of October 12, 2020

2020-10-14 The presidential committee already informed you a few days ago that as of next week, new labor and employment regulations will apply. Due to the continuing increase in the number of infections, the Presidium has revised these regulations again today.

On the one hand, the revised regulations are intended to ensure that we will be able to resume university operations as far as possible next week, taking into account all necessary distance and hygiene regulations. On the other hand, we want to ensure that we can respond as individually as possible to specific situations of our employees and avoid risks.

For this reason, from next week on, the principle will apply that all Leuphana employees are asked to return to work on the Leuphana campus as far as possible. At the same time, all supervisors are asked to continue to work together with the respective employees individually to create opportunities for working in the home office if there are increased risks of infection.

The revised regulations thus follow the principle of "responsible flexibility" - in other words, they focus on finding individual decisions on the best possible balance between responsibility for work processes and results at the university and the assessment of health risk situations in consultation between employees and superiors. In this way, we are building on the high sense of responsibility of all Leuphana employees, which we already have been experiencing together since March during recent months.
